In early 2006, leaders of many groups active in South Dallas formed the South Dallas Community Action Coalition. The coalition is open to anyone who cares about South Dallas. Its goal is to create an action agenda of focused, practical steps to improve the lives of South Dallas residents. Dozens of government officials and business leaders have agreed to work with the coalition to translate its vision into action.
